Kids, No Chaser

Return of the podegi

Monday, September 12, 2005 posted by Cindy

So Conor turned 5 months last week. He rolls both ways now and can sit up for a little while if I put his hands in the right place for him. He still sleeps through the night pretty well but often wakes up a little earlier than we want! I just need to start going to bed when he does, but it's so hard! I can't believe it's so soon that he'll start solids. Which I'm looking forward to because I can barely pump out enough milk for him but I'm not looking forward to it because it means he's growing up. Sometimes the babysitter will tell me about all the amazing things he does and I just eat it up. So funny.

Well, this mama left hubby and baby at home last weekend to give Myra a good (and naughty) bachelorette party in Vegas! A big thank you to Jean for all the hookups into the hotels and clubs. HK printed out a little graph for me to gauge how long I'd have to "pump and dump" milk based on how many drinks over time. Well, who would have known that the alcohol made my milk supply go crazy! How infuriating! After the herbs and teas I've drank to increase my supply and now there's gobs of alcohol infused milk! What a waste. Every hour I was in the bathroom and without my pump it was more like "squeeze and spray."

Here we are at Lutece in the Venetian

The little guy still hasn't mastered the art of jumping. It's still looking more like the running man.

It's really fun watching how Conor's playtime evolves. First it was a miracle if he could stay in the Gymini for a few minutes without me around. The highlight was just watching the lights. But now he can entertain himself for a while in it and really grab at the toys.

Ellen came and stayed with us one night this weekend since she was here for a wedding. She brought up the podegi that my mom-in-law had gotten from Korea. *note: HK said there's no hyphen in podegi. Oops. I guess it's like writing su-shi or something like that.

Checking out the view from the new ride

Hello, little bird......you look so delicious!

Oh, excuse my manners...you want some of this?

No? Good, more for me!

The crazy baker is on the loose again! This one thanks to the Magnolia Bakery cookbook from Lindsay. That buttercream was good!

Yum, cupcakes sound good too! I think it is the same recipe, just put in muffin tins for cupcakes. It's funny, even if I tried it, I'd think it wasn't as good as the real thing at Magnolia's.
Stacie: pumping and dumping was not so bad, esp since I had pumped a few "clean" bottles for him during the trip too! I agree, it IS liquid gold! See you Sunday!
