Hold on to Summer

Friday, October 10, 2008 posted by Henri

Yeah I'll admit. I'm in denial. I refuse to accept the fact that summer is over. Seriously, when the hell did time decide to ramp up all of a sudden? I turn my back for one second and suddenly there are Christmas trees up. Can't we at least wait for Holloween? Jeeze I'm trying to finish a damned snowcone here. Ahh well...

Here's the latest Offsprung.com contri. Smell it before the ditto ink dries up.

Nice job, although October is a little late to realize that summer's gone, even in California. That usually occurs for me when we start pulling together the school uniforms, buying new binders and lunchboxes and getting everyone haircuts.
Going against that feeling is the absence of fall weather here in Savannah. It's still 80 degrees here- how can school be starting?
But, a man not noted for his optimism (Camus) once said: “In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer” so hold on, anyway.

Odd, I have a similar saying...

"In the depths of any season, I find within my belly...a large burrito."

Yeah I'm in huge denial this year about summer for some reason. It really is still quite warm around here. The crappy NoCal rain hasn't started and I'm still manning the barbeque. I'll prbably blog some wintery stuff in Spring.

Damn man, you made my eyes water at the end there. Us he-man dads aren't supposed to do that in public. Nice.

Hey, I grilled last night too, albeit in pants and long sleeves!
